Neatly fitting a lot of content into a brochure is one of the biggest challenges our customers face. You want it all, but there’s only so much room. With a double parallel brochure, you can have it all. This type of brochure uses an 8.5” X 14” sheet of paper that’s folded in half once and then again, resulting in four relatively narrow panels where content can be easily organized and referred to.

Trifold brochures are the most common type of pamphlet for a reason – they’re easy to fold, are printed on the standard 8.5” X 11” sheet on paper, give you six panels (three on each side) and fit will in those little boxes you find at doctor’s offices and hotel lobbies. Even though the trifold is standard in the world of brochures, it can never be overdone and will always be an excellent way to display general information

A bi-fold brochure or half-fold brochure is just that – a single piece of paper folded in half. The brochure has two panels on the front and back, printed on an 8.5” X 11” sheet. If you want to highlight one or two products or services, this might be the option you’re looking for.

Like it’s trifold neighbor, the Z-fold divides an 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper into three sections, perfect for displaying content and graphics. Unlike the trifold where both end panels fold inward, one of the Z-fold brochure panels’ folds backward to make a “Z” shape.
All of the panels are the same shape, presenting an opportunity to create a design that looks complete on each panel and then spans the entire page when the brochure is fully opened.

Three-panel brochures aren’t the only way to go. If you want extra space, the accordion fold is a great option. It’s typically printed on 8.5” X 14” paper and folded to create four equal-sized panels. If you have a lot of information to share or are creating a step-by-step tutorial, we highly recommend this style.

Anyone that wants to “wow” their audience or feature visually stunning graphics should consider the gatefold. Gatefold brochures are normally printed on an 8.5” X 11” sheet of paper and folded to form three panels. The center panel is the largest and the side panels fold inward like double doors or a gate. The gatefold is a fun option that can make a big impact.
